About The Face Behind "Girl In The Works"

Hi there! That girl up there (^^), that's me, Elyse and this is my blog!
I grew up with five older sisters (I know, I know: "No brothers?! Oh your poor Dad!" Trust me, my sisters and I have ALL heard that one before.)
I'm a lover of all animals.
I'm a bit of a hippy.
Music is essential to life.
I don't think a day goes by that I DON'T have a song stuck in my head.
I have amazing parents who done taught me good.
haha. Just kidding.
I do have amazing parents that have taught me well, though.
I'd also like to believe that I'm a pretty decent writer.
That being said, I'm one of those people who obnoxiously correct
your grammar and spelling on Facebook, or Twitter, etc.
I've had asthma my whole life and I have a difficult time responding  to the question: "What's it like to have asthma?!" To that I guess I have to ask "What's it like NOT having asthma?"
Having the wonderful opportunity of growing up as an Air Force "brat," I was  lucky to travel the world with my wonderful family.
Traveling is in my blood and I itch for adventure.
I spent my teen years in Louisville, Kentucky, so I guess you could say that's "home" for me.
One thing that I used to use as my "something nobody knows about you" in school or any social situation is the fact that I was born in Saudi Arabia...but now half the world knows that, so it's not so exciting to share anymore.
I'm currently attending Brigham Young University in Rexburg, Idaho  and I've recently started to figure out my life a little bit more (you'll read more about that in... point 2 seconds... here it goes!)

I created this blog in 2008 when I was about fourteen years old.
The name of my blog, Girl In The Works, was very fitting then and still is now. The whole idea behind the title was that in my 14 year old world, I was trying to figure out who I really was. I thought I had it figured out by the time I was 15.
Little did I know that almost six years later, I was just barely putting together the pieces of who I am and "what I want to be when I grow up."
I came out to school in Fall of 2012
thinking that I knew exactly what I wanted to spend my life doing...
but that changed many times before I met a great influence in my life
who made me realize what I REALLY want to do.
I am studying Health Sciences with a minor in Psychology.
I hope to go into Chiropractic Medicine with skills in Massage Therapy.
I feel pretty good about that choice and I don't think it'll be changing again.

Recently a lot of my priorities in life have changed and I'm very excited to see
how the rest of my life unfolds!
So there's me in a nutshell, just call me Girl In The Works.
Thank you for following me on my journey through...well, the rest of my life.

Oh, and I'm a Mormon!
